Wild female Barn Owl - I watched two wild Barn Owls today hunting in strong winds and rain; a sign that the long spell of bad weather we have here in NW England is adding to the urgency to catch. These birds tend not to stay out in any sign of rain, due to their need for dry feathers and silent flight. I might have been there to watch these beautiful birds and perhaps get a photo or two as a bonus, but their desperate endeavours are for survival. We are uninvited observers and so respect for such creatures and their environment is priority.
