Truth and Justice

Truth and Justice

After almost 30 years of lies, hateful speech and cover-ups against Liverpool football club fans killed at Hillsborough football ground, South Yorkshire on April 15th 1989, and against their families and the people of Liverpool in general, on Tuesday 26th April 2016, after a two year inquiry (longest in British legal history) the truth was revealed - proving that those in authority were guilty of cover-ups and lies. Articles printed in certain newpapers at the time are now proven to have been a slur, promoting out-right lies against the fans and supporters that died, their families and friends, which also impacted on the whole city.
This quote from the Liverpool Echo Newspaper: 'On April 26, 2016, a inquest jury sitting at Warrington concluded the 96 Liverpool FC supporters who lost their lives after a crush at Hillsborough were unlawfully killed. After a hearing spanning just over two years the panel also ruled the fans played no role in causing the April 15, 1989, disaster. The original verdict of accidental death was quashed in December 2012 following years of campaigning by families, survivors and supporters and the publication of the Hillsborough Independent Panel's report.'

I took this photo earlier today, outside St Georges Hall, Liverpool, which shows football scarves, poems, flowers and other tributes to the memory of those killed as well as to their courageous families and friends.
